Roque’s Weekly Review for 09/18/19

It is time for another weekly review! Here are some bullet points detailing what is new with me:

  • This semester, I am participating in a couple of student organizations. One of them is the MTSU Film Guild which is the on-campus organization of student filmmakers, and the other is Women In Film, which is part of a national network that supports women and minorities in the film industry.
  • I am also helping with set design for a student-run variety show called “The Turn” that airs on MT10 (the campus TV station).
  • I am writing and directing a film project this semester. It is the biggest project that I will be working on before graduation. More on that later.
  • For some research for my film, I am reading the book The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. It is quite a fascinating read.

FEATURED WORK

This week, I wanted to feature more photos from my visit to the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota, FL, last month. If you are ever out that way, this place is totally worth visiting.

Here are some more gorgeous tropical flowers:

These gardens also have a small museum, and during my visit, they were featuring intricate glass sculptures.

BLOG POST FROM TROPICAL SHADE OF GREEN

This week on my blog, I question the existence of heaven and offer up a viable alternative. Read here:

Well, that’s all for now. Thank you for visiting and checking out this week’s update.

There is, gratefully, more to come.
